- Addressed to children from 12 to 14 years old, the activity will be held from July 7th to 18th.
Inscriptions are now open for the Fundación Cibervoluntarios Digital Camp at El Poble Nou de Benitatxell (Alacant) from July 7th to 18th for boys and girls between 12 and 14 years old. With specialised staff and contents adapted to each age group, the free activity will provide face-to-face training in digital skills from Monday to Friday (11:00am to 2:00pm) at the municipal library (Alacant Avenue, 11).
Over the course of 30 hours, participants will learn how to search valuable information on the Internet, create digital content, surf safely, take care of their digital footprint, detect fake news, prevent cyberbullying and make healthy use of screens, among other skills.
The deadline for inscriptions is June 16th, and those interested can register using a QR code on the poster at El Poble Nou de Benitatxell Town Hall (carrer Major, 5), through the Internet (https://www.inscribirme.com/actividades-gratuitas-en-competencias-digitales-el-poble-nou-de-benitatxell).
Digital Camp is a fun and interactive way of learning, in which stages and missions must be completed in order to reach achievements. And so, in each adventure, new skills will be acquired to use the Internet and digital tools in a useful, creative, safe and responsible way.
At the end, participants will receive a DigComp certificate accrediting the knowledge and skills acquired in the use of Information and Communication Technologies within the European framework.
Digital Camp is an initiative promoted by Fundación Cibervoluntarios, within the Digital Competences for Children Programme, CODI, launched by the Ministry of Youth and Childhood, funded by the European Union-Next Generation EU.
Fundación Cibervoluntarios is an international Spanish NGO pioneer in technology volunteering focused on facilitating the acquisition of digital skills to people in situations of digital vulnerability and eliminating the digital gap and promoting the use and knowledge of technology as a vehicle for bridging social gaps, generating social innovation and empowerment in citizenship. Since 2001, it has been helping thousands of people a year to use technology, thanks to the time and dedication of the more than 4,500 people who already volunteer in technology, and in collaboration with more than 5,000 national and international organisations.
