Benitatxell opens its festive calendar with the celebration of Saint Antoni and Saint Blai

  • Next Sunday the blessing of animals organised by the peña de Cavallistes i Carreters will take place, and next Monday, the Band will offer the traditional chocolatada with bambas ( typical pastries).

February brings with it the first events of the festive calendar of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell this 2025: Saint Antoni, patron saint of animals, and Saint Blai.

Next Sunday 2nd, all the pets and horses of Benitatxell and the region will parade in the streets. The ‘peña’ of Cavallistes i Carreters del Poble Nou de Benitatxell organises, as every year, the festivity of Saint Antoni. At 9:30 am all the horses will gather on La Pau street for the popular lunch, and at midday the parade will start with the musical accompaniment of Colla La Llebetjà for the blessing of the animals, which this year will be held on València avenue.

El Poble Nou de Benitatxell Band will offer the traditional chocolate for Sant Blai next Monday February 3rd. In the afternoon, for tea time, there will be chocolate and bambas at popular prices from 4.15pm at the Oratory and at the Music School. Afterwards, at 5pm, there will be a mass in honour of Sant Blai at the Oratory.
