This Thursday, May 2, the traditional 2024 Rose Festival begins in Poble Nou de Benitatxell. The Festival Department and the festival-goers have prepared an intense program of events, which will last until May 12.
They will begin on May 2 and 3 with masses and triduums to the Virgin of the Rose. But the big party will begin on saturday 4. In the morning there will be 'Clean Olympics' on the sports court of the Santa María Magdalena school and a musical workshop for babies in the Library (registration atlibrary@elpoblenoudebenitatxell.com), and in the afternoon Offering.
At 6:30 p.m. the festivities will be collected, and later they will go to the Oratory and begin the colorful floral offering to the Virgin of the Rose. Children and adults will head towards the Church to offer it with their bouquets and floral arrangements accompanied by the Music Band and the Colla La Llebetjà. During the offering, the Grup de Danses Morro Falquí will also offer their traditional dances. At night, the Titanic orchestra will perform on Calle la Pau.
With the aim of achieving an orderly and organized offering, the Festival Department has asked for the collaboration of neighbors and associations, establishing the following order of departure: Grup de Danses Morro Falquí, Colla La Llebetjà, boys and girls of communion, boys and girls organized in pairs or trios, girls and boys in carts, neighbors who want to make offerings, associations and clubs, partygoers and, to close with their music, the Santa María Magdalena Music Municipal Group.
Well-awaited is the day of La Rosa and its tradition of “pans benets”, one of the most unique in the municipality. The preparations are being finalized with the transfer to the Oratory of the 120 loaves that will be decorated with roses and carried in baskets to the Church on Sunday May 5, where they will be blessed. Afterwards, accompanied by the Music Band and the Colla La Llebetjà, a procession made up of festive people, boys and girls from the town will walk the streets with the baskets of blessed bread to distribute the pieces of bread to the neighbors in the houses of the town, those who wait in the doorways with an empty plate.
That same day in the afternoon, at 8:00 p.m., there will be a solemn procession in honor of the Virgin of the Rose, San Pancracio Mártir and San Luis. At the end, a bouquet of fireworks will be fired in the Portalet, and at night there will be music in the festive center.

The costume parade will leave at 5:30 p.m. from the festival center. Starting at 6:30 p.m. there will be a La Fiesta 600 discomobile on La Pau Street, and at 7:30 p.m., the partygoers will distribute snacks to all those who comply with the rules dictated by the mayor of San Pancracio.
