Benitatxell renovates ‘La Burreta’ park and sets up new calisthenics area

  • The two existing children’s playing areas have been refurbished and improved and a new calisthenics area has been created, consisting of a module with six exercises.

‘La Burreta’ park of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell was crying out for renovation, and thanks to a subsidy of 47,947 euros funded entirely by the Diputación de Alicante it is now a totally transformed space.

The area, located near Partida dels Benitatxells, next to the town centre, is placed in a unique enclave overlooking fields of agricultural land. The two existing play areas have now been upgraded and improved with swings, slides, see-saws and a variety of other games in order to provide a safe and well-kept park where people can engage in physical activity and outdoor activities.

The new feature is the creation of a new calisthenics area consisting of an exercise module with six activities: monkey bar, double pulse bars, parallel bars, TRX long rings, short rings and abdominal bench and double espaliers.

The renovation work was carried out by the company Fisamar Urban SL. Improvements in the contract included the supply and fitting of an overhead awning, an extra double swing and six wooden benches, as well as a border in the calisthenics area.

Previously, this recreational area was very badly deteriorated due to the passage of time and acts of vandalism which meant that the playground equipment and the safety floor were not suitable for its use, resulting in a degraded and unattractive area.
