Local Police and Civil Protection of Benitatxell saved the life of a man who had been in an accident at home for days.

Yesterday afternoon we witnessed a truly heroic performance. Local Police and Civil Protection of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell saved the life of a man who had been injured at home for days. The 83 year old Norwegian man had had an accident in his bedroom and was lying on the floor unable to get up to call for help.

It was his daughter who, from her country of origin, raised the alarm to the police after not being able to contact him for days. After being warned, the security forces tried repeatedly to knock on the door without success. No one answered or opened the door.

When they had no response, and as a last resource, they decided to break a window and climb up a ladder to access the room. It was then that they saw an arm moving on the floor next to the bed. The man was very frightened, bruised and unable to speak, but thanks to the action of the local security services he was rescued. A Basic Life Support ambulance took him to Dénia Hospital, where he is currently in recovery.
