El Poble Nou de Benitatxell dedicates the 18th edition of the Musical Spring to singing

Spring is synonymous with music in Poble Nou de Benitatxell. From April 21 to May 26, the municipality held the 18th Spring Concert Series with names offering free and free admission, which is focused on the discipline of singing.

The Musical Spring 2024 will start on day April 21 with the concert of Cor and Orchestra of La Rectoria, who will perform the 'Requiem kv 626' by WA Mozart, the last and iconic work of the Austrian composer who will not be able to finish in 1791 when he dies at the end of the dead. It will be at 6:00 p.m. at the Church of Santa Maria Magdalena.

The 60 seats of the choir will be joined by four exceptional soloists (soprano Pepi Lloret, mezzo-soprano Carla Mayer, tenor José Martínez and basso Carlos López Galarza), an orchestra of 22 instrumentalists with the outstanding concert pianist Josep Vicent Giner. organ and its director Jaime Morell.

Founded in September 2005, the Choir of La Rectoria has developed since its inception an outstanding concert activity in the Valencian Community, participating in different festivals and concert cycles. Since 2012 he has closed all editions of the Pedreguer International Orchestra Festival and since its creation, in 2008, he is the resident cor of the concert series Música Sacra a La Rectoria.

In 2014 he was invited to the participatory concerts organized by the Madrid Philharmonic Orchestra at the National Auditorium. Since the 2016/17 season he has collaborated regularly with various musical societies and orchestras in symphonic-choral programs in auditoriums with the Palau de les Arts, and since 2016 he has organized, together with the organist Josep Vicent Giner, the participatory choral project 'La veu i l'orge'.

The next chapter of the week, April 28, it will be the turning point l'Orfeó Universitari de València, who will perform at 6:00 p.m. at the church. He will perform the program 'A més d'Estelles', a work that aims to remember and pay homage to the Burjassot poet in the celebration of the centenary of his birth, while placing it in context and remembering that generation of writers and writers who are decide to write in Valencia in a few moments that are very complicated, dignify the language and give us a lot of literature of great quality.

Founded in 1947 in the University of Valencia, the Orfeó Universitari de València is formatted for students, graduates and professors. They have followed directors Jesús Ribera (1947-1971), Eduardo Cifre (1972-1997), Josep Ramon Gil-Tárrega (1998-2004), Constantino Martínez-Orts (2005-2011) and, since 2012, Francesc Valldecabres.

He has won the first prize in all editions of the National University Cors Contest, has continued to be selected among the millionaires of the world and has participated in the international university cors festivals held in Lilla, New York, Coïmbra, Manila, Rome, Poznan, etc. . It has carried out tours in France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, Txecoslovakia, Hongria, Austria, Portugal, Russia, the USA, India, the Philippines, China, Romania, Norway, etc. He has recorded thirty albums of choral music in the most varied styles and has received the Highest University Award for collective character and the Fulla de Llorer de la Cultura from the Valencian Press Association, the Distinció de l'Ordre de Jaume I, the 'High Distinction of the Generalitat Valenciana or the Medal d'Or of the City of Valencia, among other distinctions.

After some busy sets during the La Rosa festivities, the concerts will take over the day May 19 with the proposal of l'OMA – Marina Alta Orchestra, who will perform at 6:00 p.m. at the church. L'OMA was created in 1998 (it will also celebrate its 25th anniversary) by orchestra director Francesc Estévez with the aim of creating an important place in the culture of the Marina Alta region.

Fins hui has performed more than 550 concerts, highlighting the one at the Palau de la Música de València, the Auditorium of the Conservatori Superior de Música de Palma, the one at the Cathedral of Terol and the one during the concert season and òpera d'Alcoi . He has also recorded various CDs with the Opera Recital with the tenor José Sempere, the Xicoteta Serenata Nocturna or compositions with the Hymne of the Marina Alta.
