El Poble Nou de Benitatxell constitutes the Intersectoral Health Board

  • The functions of this body are directed towards encouraging collaboration between all social agents in order to carry out health promotion actions.

El Poble Nou de Benitatxell’s Council, through the Councillor of Health, in charge of Isa Garrido, has constituted the Intersectoral Health Board and Participation for Community Action in Health, which is intended to be a space for participation to promote local and community health.

It is made up by the Councillor of Health, Isa Garrido (presidency); María Teresa Mayans, representative of Caritas (vice-presidency); Inma Llobell, Social Worker (secretary) and the members Jorge Pascual (councillor), Javi Cabrera (councillor), Carmen Colomer (Youth technician), Andrea Bertomeu (Primary Care professional), María José López (head of the School Council of CEIP Santa María Magdalena), Arminda García (facilitator of the Council for Children and Adolescents), Silvia Méjica (Health Centre professional) and Margaret Hales (representative of the European Union of Women Marina Alta and One Voice for Cumbre). Municipal associations such as ” Women of Benitatxell” and “Pensioners and Retired People” will also take part in the event.

The functions of this body are directed towards fostering collaboration between all social agents to carry out health promotion actions with the objective of contributing to improve the health and quality of life of citizens through the creation of alliances and coordination with other local administrations and associations. It also seeks to promote the analysis of the impact on health of the politics and actions that emerge from the roundtable and from the different municipal areas.

The board will draw up and approve its rules of operation according to the general guidelines established by the competent management body in matters of public health, and commissions or working groups may be set up for the development of specific projects.
