UPDATE ON THE STATE OF DRINKING WATER DUE TO THE LACK OF RAINFALL

Following water samples taken from various points in the network by Hidraqua, the drinking water company of the Consortium of Water Teulada – Benitachell, and the analytical results obtained on the basis of the technical health legislation in force (RD 3/2023), the Council can affirm that the quality of the water at Benitachell is “POTABILITY with an excess, within the permitted thresholds, of the sodium parameter”. This is the technical definition issued by the Dénia Health Centre, the public body responsible for drinking water. The results are attached in the table in the picture.

Therefore, it is concluded that, with the exception of those people with medical recommendations to limit sodium intake, who are recommended not to use water for drinking, there is NO RESTRICTION for the use of tap water, since it is POTABLE.

We take this opportunity to ask all users to make a rational use of tap water by minimising non-essential uses, as we are going through a serious drought context.
