- Poble Net calls for responsibility in terms of recycling this Christmas, a time when the generation of waste increases with gift packaging and large celebrations
The municipal public services and cleaning company of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell, Poble Net SL, is currently in a process of implementing improvements. Regarding waste management, the container islands in the urban area have recently been completed, incorporating all the recycling fractions in each of them: packaging (yellow container), paper and cardboard (blue container), glass (green container ) and rejection.
Little by little, the oldest and most deteriorated containers will be replaced, and it is planned to extend this dynamic to other areas of the municipality. In addition, work is also being done to implement this selective collection where it is currently collected door to door, as well as to add the organic fraction (brown container) to be able to carry out the selective collection of food remains, such as fruit skins, thorns of fish, plants, egg rinds or grounds, and kitchen paper or used napkins.
The separate collection index in El Poble Nou de Benitatxell currently stands at 15%, well below the 50% required by European indicators. Poble Net, which is already working to achieve Europe's recycling goals, calls for responsibility, especially this Christmas, a time when the generation of waste increases with gift packaging and big celebrations.
