With a simple WhatsApp message, the El Poble Nou de Benitatxell City Council is accessible to its neighbors. The council has launched a communication and citizen service platform through WhatsApp that allows various municipal procedures to be carried out such as communicating complaints and incidents, making queries or suggestions, speaking with the mayor, accessing electronic procedures or receiving important notices and communications. among others.

It thus becomes the first municipality in the province of Alicante to implement Holawap, an innovative intelligent communication channel created by EYOS Comunicación Digital, a pioneering Spanish company in automated communication through WhatsApp.

With this system, the city council aims to maintain closer, simpler and more effective communication with citizens, encourage participation and reach a more optimal level in the resolution of complaints and incidents. And what better way to facilitate the processes of the local administration than with WhatsApp, the number one personal communication platform in Spain that has more than 27 million active users and is consulted an average of 6 times a day.

For the user it has numerous advantages. It does not require any installation or update, it does not consume phone resources (neither processor nor memory) and, unlike other apps that are easily uninstalled, the Town Hall will be a contact that will remain indefinitely. Additionally, each user can select the language they want to speak. At the same time, taking advantage of the bidirectionality provided by WhatsApp, the City Council will be able to send communications, alerts, news, events and information of interest.

How does it work

Starting to use this channel is as simple as adding your phone 690 96 55 97 to the contact book, open a conversation and write “Hello”. From that moment on, the virtual assistant will automatically respond to the message, and you will only need to follow its instructions.

First, you must choose the language in which the user wants to communicate (Valencian, Spanish or English) by pressing 1, 2 or 3. Then, also numerically, the main menu will be displayed with all the available options: 1. Municipal information , 2. Contact your mayor, 3. Notice of incident, 4. Queries and suggestions, 5. Procedures and procedures, 6. Local Police and 7. COVID19 Mailbox.

The platform will allow you to send messages, photos and location, very useful functions, for example to report an incident using an image and send the exact location to facilitate the identification work to the City Council's Services department.
