The first San Silvestre del Poble Nou de Benitatxell (4.2 km for runners and 2.1 km for walkers), which is offered this year as one of the main novelties of the Christmas program in the municipality, has already opened registration for participate. Registration costs 3 euros for runners, and the online deadline ends on December 22 at 12:00 p.m. For walkers, boys and girls (born between 2006 and 2023), registration is free, but given the solidarity component of the test, they will have to bring some hygiene product as a donation to Cáritas Benitatxell.
The race, organized by the Benitatxell Multiesport Club with the collaboration of the City Council, will take place on Saturday, December 23 and will be a festival of fun. The children's races will start at 5:30 p.m., and the adult races will begin at 6:00 p.m. There will be a costume contest and afternoon followed by the Festers 2024.
Santa hats will be delivered to all participants and a small gift for a snack. There will also be a raffle for several gifts among all participating people. The first three people in each category (male and female) will receive special prizes from lots provided by the sponsoring local businesses, such as a shoulder of ham, a sailing trip, etc. There will also be a prize for the best individual costume and the best group costume (minimum 4 people).
